COVID-19 Policies & Procedures
Melrose Dance Academy is committed to creating the healthiest, happiest, and safest environment for our dancers, families, teachers, staff, and community.
Our policies and protocols are based on information from The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the State of Massachusetts.
General Guidelines
If your dancer has experienced any COVID-19 symptoms; i.e. fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, loss of taste/smell, nausea or vomiting and/or diarrhea or in general has not been feeling well, please DO NOT bring them to dance.
At Melrose Dance Academy’s discretion, students who appear to be symptomatic will be dismissed immediately. A family member will be contacted for immediate pick-up. The dancer will be brought to an isolated area while waiting for pick up. The dance studio will then be sanitized.
All dancers, teachers and staff must show no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days before entering the dance studio.
Starting March 21, 2022 masks will become optional for all staff, students and parents.
All dance bags must have a luggage tag with the dancer's first/last name, and and emergency contact number. All shoes must be labeled as well with FIRST & LAST name.
No food will be allowed. Water fountains will be blocked off. Dancers must come with a water bottle, labeled with FIRST & LAST name.
Dance shoes MUST be worn at all times in the studio, no bare feet unless your dancer is enrolled in an Acro class.
If a dancer comes into contact with COVID, they can still come to class wearing a mask if they test negative and are symptom free.
Hygiene Protocols
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available in the waiting room and each studio for the use of all students, teachers, and staff.
Dancers must arrive to the studio dressed appropriately for their class.
Street shoes must be removed before entering each studio.
Dancers should only bring what is necessary for class.
Water bottles MUST have the dancer’s FIRST and LAST name on it and MUST leave the studio with the dancer.
