Amanda Bruno
Owner/Artistic Director

Amanda has years of experience teaching dance to all ages. She began dancing at the age of two at a Melrose studio and quickly fell in love with the art of dance. In 2005, Amanda graduated from the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston training course, where she received certification to be a dance teacher. Amanda studied Dance and Art at Salem State College, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Art. Quickly after graduating, she began her Master's Degree at Salem State in Early Childhood Education.

Amanda is trained in all styles of dance and is constantly continuing her own education. Her choreography has won several awards at local competitions. She looks forward to passing on her strong love of dance, the way her dance teachers did to her.

Dance Teachers

Courtney started dancing at age 3 and trained in tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Dance from Franklin Pierce University. She also studied both dance and theater in Europe during her time at Franklin Pierce. Melrose Dance Academy is a special place where she can bring her passion for performing arts together into one amazing class, Musical Theater!
Ashley began her dance career at the age of 2 at Deborah Mason School of Dance. She continued her dance education at Boston Ballet where she classically trained for 9 years. Ashley performed in The Nutcracker, participated in numerous Galas, and attended several competitions, winning many Regional Titles.
Jillian discovered her love of dance at the age of four, and hasn't stopped since! She has been teaching since 2003 and received the Pam Feri Award for excellence in ballet upon graduation from the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston's Dance Teacher Training in 2004. When she's not dancing, Jillian works as a full time outpatient sports medicine physical therapist at a local hospital and a group exercise instructor and personal trainer at a local fitness studio.
Olivia started dancing at the age of 2 and trained with Miss Amanda for 9 years in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary. She was a member of the MDA Performance Team where she danced in several competitions, Disney World, and pre-game for the Boston Celtics. She is working on her undergraduate degree in Education at Merrimack College where she is also a member of their Dance Team.
Lauren started started her dance training at the age of 4 at a local studio taking ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, productions and of course acrobatics. Dancing in competitions led her to many different titles, high score awards, and high point awards. In 2008, she was Dance Masters of America's Acrobat Scholarship winner. She is now certified in Acrobatic Arts training. Her dance background has lead her to modeling for Dansco, FINA, Dan Doke Dance Photography, and even dancing in Downtown Disney.
Kristina began her dance training at the age of 2. For the past 7 years, she has trained with Miss Amanda on the MDA Performance Teams in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical. When she is not taking dance classes, she is training as a teacher in Miss Amanda's classes. She has danced pre-game shows at the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and Providence Bruins games. She has also danced in several competitions, Disney World, and in New York with the Rockettes. Kristina enjoys working with kids and is excited to begin teaching in MDA's preschool programs.
